Rust de Winter Dam
We offer excellent fishing opportunities at the Rust de Winter Dam and Nature Reserve as an optional daily excursion.
Both boat and shore fishing is available and all necessary equipment included. Hippo and crocodile also call this dam home so please adhere to all safety instructions given by your guides.
Popular fish species caught.
Largemouth bass, Common carp and Canary kurper.
Other fish here include;
Mozambique tilapia, Redbreast tilapia, Banded tilapia, Blunt-toothed African catfish
and North African catfish.
Birdlife
Rust de Winter
Over 400 species of bird have been recorded in the nature reserve, the high total giving testament to the variety of habitats present.
The reserve itself is brilliant for birding and a popular destination for fishermen.
